After match comments
Head coach of the team Turkey Hakan Tecimer:
– It's a high-level, well-organized tournament. But for us, first of all it is a preparation stage. We've got to teach the team how to play, to think, to struggle. We want to win, but the training process is also important. 7 players are for the first time in the team. We have to test them, to let them show what they can. Besides, many of them played on the indoor stadium and artificial pitch for the first time. The lack of oxygen influences the play. We give equal chances to all the players. The fact that substitutions improved the game was the players' merit. We are not looking for excuses, but I'd like to note that the time difference between Russia and Turkey also plays some role. We started to play quite early, according to the Turkish time, although it was not the reason of the lost. Finland team was stronger. We were playing good only first ten minutes and last twenty, and it's too little.
Head coach of the team Finland Kimmo Lipponen:
– The game was very strong, apart from several moments when the Turkish team played especially good. It's necessary to say that some of my players are not well right now, as well as me. It looks that we have caught a fever which we face every season in Finland. That's why not all of the players were at their places. For example, according to the schedule, the player №14 shouldn't have to play today, there was another player at his position but he fell ill and had to sit on the bench. What's more, he didn't work hard but managed to score two goals. The guy who substituted him was new in this team. I saw him at one of the sport schools and invited here to check his performance. It was clear that he needs some time to become a part of the team. However, even then he had a good chance to score. Now we are going to watch the game of our opponents and to get ready for the next game.
