Opening ceremony

Opening ceremony of Valentin Granatkin Memorial took place in Peterburgsky SCC in St. Petersburg.

Welcome speech was delivered by the Governour of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, president of Russian Football Union Nikolai Tolstykh, and president of the Football Federation of St. Petersburg Anatoly Turchak. The right of the first symbolic kick was given to the merited master of sports of the USSR, bronze prize holder of the World Cup 1966 Vasily Danilov.

Before the match Russia – Moldova in the end of the first tournament day a minute’s silence was held to pay the tribute to the memory of people killed during the tragedies in Volgograd in the end of 2013.
